English Ministry of Inland Church

Shepherd’s Corner – May 06, 2018

Last Saturday, April 28th, 15 of us arrived at Inland Valley Hope Partner’s
shelter in Pomona at 8am.  It was an opportunity for us to be Jesus’ hands
and feet by cooking and serving breakfast to those who were staying there.
It was a great time while some cooked, others played with the kids, and
others conversed with the people there.  Then everyone got to eat together
and spend some time together.  This was the first time for many of us, so
it was awkward at times, but you could feel the sense of joy and
appreciation from both groups!  The shelter houses up to 15 people, but
there were just 7 that came out for breakfast.  There was obviously too
many volunteers.  But this made me glad to see that many of our
congregation members were eager to sign up.  And this also helped me and
the leaders decide that we can do this more often than just once a
quarter.  We’ve decided to provide breakfast every other month.  So
definitely be on the look out for the next June date.  Sign up will be on
the clipboard and open to the first 7 that sign up.  I look forward to our
group’s growth in compassion and service through opportunities like these!

in Him,
Rev. Daevid Yoon
