English Ministry of Inland Church

Shepherd’s Corner – March 11, 2018

Last week I was able to witness some great examples of
multi-generational ministry that I wanted to share with you.  An
anonymous donor didn’t want our younger sisters to miss out on the
learning and investing at the Spring Women’s retreat so provided some
funds so that more of the women of our EM can attend the retreat.  A
dad of 2 small children was left at home with the kids because the mom
had to go on a business trip.  The average dad wouldn’t even think
twice about coming to church alone with two young kids, but this dad
came to church with one hand pushing the stroller and another holding
the hand of his 1st kid.  You wouldn’t be able to witness this type of
giving and this type of commitment if you were in an age specific
department or age specific church.  Without us even realizing it, we
are able to watch and learn from each other of what it means to
sacrifice for one another and also what it means to do what we can to
be dedicated to the worship of God and to our covenant community.
Let’s pray for our congregation!  Though at times there is awkwardness
because of the age spectrum, there are also so many gems that we can
see and learn from.

in Him,
Rev. Daevid Yoon
