Shepherd’s Corner – December 1, 2019

As we enter our final month of 2019, let’s take some time to begin reflecting on everything our God has faithfully led us through this past year. It may be a graduation, a new school, a new job, a new marriage, a new addition to your household. Or it may even be a death in the family, a sickness, a bankruptcy, a failed class. Though thinking about the latter may hurt, I believe the action of thinking through these times in hindsight to see how God led us through them can help us to be more thankful and to be more aware of God’s working in our lives. Neuroscience has shown us that even the very act of reflecting on what to be thankful for changes the chemistry in our brains (positively). I believe God has wired us this way, and that it is healthier (both spiritually and physically) for us to frequently reflect. And then I believe such reflection will lead us to prayer: a prayer of praise or thanks or a prayer of trust and supplication. So join me on reflecting this month! And let’s be a congregation that is aware of God’s hand in our lives and a congregation that regularly responds to Him accordingly. in Him, Rev. Daevid Yoon
