Shepherd’s Corner-January 19, 2020

It’s been 13 years since the first iPhone came out (I googled, and the first android came out in 2008). Since then there has been a lot of changes and advancements to our smartphones and as you hold in your hands, they are faster, more responsive, brighter, waterproof, sandproof, anything you could think of, it has been upgraded and will be upgraded. The point I want to bring out is this, ever since we’ve had access to all the information at the palm of our hand, have we become smarter? or have we become less smart? Imagine yourself without a smartphone… if you have a question, would you drive to a library and search for an answer? or drive home, pull out your computer and search google? Smartphones have made our lives convenient and allowed us to obtain a lot of knowledge at an instant, but as I’ve shared this with my Y2s, I think we live in an era where we have a lot of knowledge (perhaps too much) but lack understanding. I hope that as we read through the Bible with a help of E100 (perhaps you are reading through your smartphone), we would not only obtain knowledge of the Bible, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, we would grow in understanding of who God is and what He has done through Christ Jesus our Lord. Glory to God, Rev. Alex Kim
