English Ministry of Inland Church

Shepherd’s Corner – December 16, 2018

By God’s grace we have been growing. I’ve explained that the growth that is most important is spiritual maturity, but we’ve also been growing in numbers. Most of our numerical growth has been (but not limited to) our Y1. And I am thankful for our pastoral intern, Andrew Chang’s faithful service! But this also means that we need more man power to help with logistics and particularly pastoral care. Further, I’ve been praying for more attention to our Y2 for 2 reasons. 1. The age of 23 and over is such a tough age of transitioning into the real world and advanced adulthood. And the demographical reality is that more and more people of that age are leaving the church. So more direct attention and care would benefit that age group. 2. With the growth of our Y1, we want to bulk and prepare our Y2 so that the graduates of Y1 look forward to a vibrant and spiritually health next stage of life. So that is why I proposed to our leaders and then later the KM session to start looking for more pastoral staff. After 8 months, the Lord has provided, and we are happy to welcome P.Alex Kim and his family into our EM. Though we can only afford half-time staff right now, I hope that this will be the beginning of an important investment into our young adults for the spiritual growth and maturity of them and ultimately our overall congregation. in Him, Rev. Daevid Yoon
